Captain Novak began his career on the water in the United States Coast Guard Search and Rescue Boat Coxswain and Assistant Engineering Officer U.S. Coast Guard Stations: Milford Haven and Cape Charles, Yorktown Honorable Discharge
In the commercial fishing industry, Captain Buck quickly rose to the rank of captain within just two years. Over the next two decades, he became one of the most esteemed captains in the fleet. He successfully commanded six different 150-foot vessels.
Captain Novak was aboard several research expeditions. He was Master of Vessel on several U.S. and International Search and Surveys including: Titanic, Estonia, Atocha, and Juno along with the discovery of several wrecks off the coast of Portugal and Peru. Captain Buck spent a few years treasure hunting, commanding the Sea Hunt in pursuit of the Juno and various wrecks in the Bahamas. Additionally, he collaborated with the Mel Fisher Group in Key West, searching for emeralds and other treasures from the Atocha.
As captain on a sport fishing boat, managing a skilled crew, coordinating fishing strategies, and ensuring everyone's safety are key responsibilities, requiring leadership, expertise, and a deep connection to the sea.
Captain Buck has extensive experience navigating the waters of South Florida, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean. By prioritizing safety, seamless navigation, and the overall well-being of everyone on board, he has delivered exceptional and unforgettable yachting experiences.
Captain Novak assumed a pivotal role in overseeing the maintenance and operation
of a survey vessel in the Gulf of Mexico. The magnitude of his responsibilities became evident during the inshore oil recovery efforts following the BP Deep Water Horizon oil spill. He and his crew ensured the seamless flow of supplies and support crucial to the success of the oil recovery operations.
As the fishing liaison for Equinor in the North Atlantic wind farm industry, Captain Buck played a pivotal role in fostering effective communication and collaboration between Equinor and the local fishing community. With a deep understanding of both industries, he worked to address concerns and ensure a harmonious coexistence.
